happy 1st birthday

Rowan wasn't too sure about the whole deal.....
...but Reese LOVED it!! :0)

What a milestone a 1st birthday is and we were so blessed to have been able to spend it with so many friends and family! We ventured to Omaha on Friday afternoon to attend Jamie and Nicky's wedding. What a great time that was being able to finally welcome her to the family! :o) On Saturday we had a great birthday party for Reese and Rowan that was enjoyed by several members of our family and even some friends! Although they won't remember it, there were lots of pictures taken for us to look at in the years to come. It was exciting to see how they both reacted to being able to eat their cupcakes without mommy there making sure they weren't making too big of a mess! There were so many gifts that we had trouble fitting them all in the car on Sunday for our next venture....Norfolk. Dalton was being confirmed on Sunday morning, so we loaded everything in the car (and by "we" I mean Nic) and headed to Norfolk in time for church at 11:00. After confirmation we were able to enjoy lunch with more family....and even a few more gifts! WHEW!! It is a good thing that birthday's only come once a year! :0) The weekend might have been a blur, but it was a great time and one that we won't soon forget!! Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate the first year of our beautiful baby girls' lives! What a blessing this past year has been and we are looking forward with wide eyes at what the years to come will bring! Love to all! :0)

a weekend at home

This past weekend we stayed home!! Not something to write home about for most, but for us...it is quite a big deal. We like to be on the go and usually would welcome the chance to travel to see family and friends, but considering that we can't remember the last time we stayed home we decided it was necessary...and I must admit, it was really nice. Our weekend didn't consist of much, but we were able to spend some time with friends (about a block away) on Saturday night and enjoyed supper and some March madness with them.

As the weeks go by the girls are getting more and more independent in their eating...they would much rather do it themselves! In fact, at Carol's they eat what the big kids eat, with in reason of course, and as much as mommy doesn't really like all of this growing up supper on Sunday was chicken nuggets and bananas! YUMMY!! :) They can do it all by themselves!

new friends and a new trick!

Jack and Nelli have been discovered!! With the sun shining as of late our living room curtains have been open more often and thus have created a new friendship...the girls think the puppies are pretty neat! Thank goodness there is a large glass door separating them or those giggles and points might turn to screams and tears. It will definitely be interesting to see what summer brings in the way of an actual friendship between the four of them, but for now it was pretty stinking cute to see their faces while they watched the puppies through the window. :)

Rowan has also decided that she is more of the daredevil...mommy thought she might do a somersault recently. Her latest "trick" is to do a tripod (as daddy likes to call her). It is quite cute, and as long as she stays upright she thinks it kinda fun too. Mommy hopes that she takes at least a few steps before we move into gymnastics! :)

less than a month to go...

So, our babies are quickly approaching their 1st Birthday...I can't believe how fast time flies!! Early on in March we were able to take advantage of some nicer weather and ventured outside to play in the front yard and watch daddy take down the Christmas lights (yep, our Christmas lights were up until the middle of March, ridiculous I know).

They have also found a new toy...daddy's computer! So much fun...lots of buttons to push and if we hit the right ones all sorts of fun things start to happen.

just a post

So many things happen each day in our house that wouldn't mean much to anyone but us...and that might be the best part about being a mom!! Work is no fun and life gets stressful, but regardless, seeing those little girls smile when I walk into Carol's house is by far the best part of my day and I look more forward to that than anything else ever! Since their arrival there have been many tears and even more laughs...not a moment would I trade for anything in the world! Mommy loves you both! :)
